FCA2000A2E Contact Angle Measuring InstrumentIt is mainly used to measure the contact angle of liquid on solid, i.e. the wettability of liquid on solid, and also can measure the contact angle of external phase for liquid. The instrument can measure the contact angle of various liquids on various materials, such as bulk materials, fiber materials, textile materials, nanomaterials, semiconductor materials, silicon wafer materials, etc. Powder samples can also be measured after pressing. At the same time, this series of instruments can measure and calculate the surface/interfacial tension of liquids and the free energy of solid surfaces.
When a droplet is free in a space unaffected by a force field, it is spherical in shape due to interfacial tension. However, when a droplet is in contact with a solid plane, its *final* shape depends on the relative magnitude of the cohesive forces within the droplet and the adhesive forces between the droplet and the solid. When a droplet is placed on a solid plane, the droplet can automatically spread out on the solid surface or exist as a droplet at a certain contact angle with the solid surface. Contact angle measurement can have important applications in improving oil extraction rates, flotation of target minerals, clean coal handling, biomedical materials, semiconductor chip industry, and characterization of non-toxic low surface energy anti-fouling materials. In addition, contact angle measurement technology has important uses in the characterization of inks, cosmetics, pesticides, printing and dyeing, papermaking, fabric finishing, detergents, spraying, and wastewater treatment industries.
